Product Overview
The Buffet That Earns Its Place in the Room — and Keeps It
Most buffets and sideboards fail the same way: a carcass built from low-density board that softens at the edges, hinges that loosen within a year, and a surface finish that chips or yellows under the conditions of normal daily use. The JL&C Buffet Sideboard is designed specifically to avoid every one of those failure points.
The cabinet body is constructed from solid wood multilayer board — a real-timber engineered panel produced by bonding solid wood layers under high pressure in alternating grain directions. This construction gives the panel the surface density and workability of solid timber while eliminating the warping, shrinkage and joint failure that single-ply panels develop over time as humidity and temperature change through the seasons. The result is a carcass that stays flat, stays square and holds its hardware fittings firmly for years — not just at the point of installation.
Beneath and behind the carcass, a welded metal frame acts as the piece’s structural skeleton. It connects the carcass panels, distributes load evenly across the base structure, and provides fixed, reinforced anchor points for all door hinges, drawer runners, shelf supports and handle hardware. This is the component most storage furniture at this category does not include — and its absence is precisely why so many sideboards begin to rack and distort within a few years of regular use.
The legs are stainless steel, selected for their corrosion resistance, visual cleanliness and structural load capacity. Available in brushed, polished mirror and powder-coated finishes, and in square, round or tapered profiles, the legs are specified per order to match the design brief — whether for a private dining room, a hotel lobby credenza, a restaurant service sideboard or a high-end retail or reception installation.
Every element of the JL&C Buffet Sideboard is customisable: width, height, depth, internal shelf layout, door count and style, surface finish, hardware and leg profile. Our team works directly with interior designers, procurement managers and project developers from first specification through to delivery.
